Here's to New Beginnings.

Bela Gyarmati

New Year is observed on January 1st, the first day of the year according to the modern Gregorian as well as the Julian Calendar.  In pre-Christian Rome, the day was dedicated to Janus, the god of gateways and beginnings.

Hence, the first month of the year is January. Janus is depicted with two faces to indicate that he looks at the past and future simultaneously, reflecting on the old and anticipating the new.

Here at Mermaid Cove, we have been reflecting on the past year as well.  We are thrilled with the launch and success of Mermaid Cove, and we are eagerly anticipating an exciting and prosperous 2021.

New Year also gives us a chance to reflect on how far we've come in our lives and how to honour and celebrate ourselves.  Unfortunately, we don't do that enough as we become occupied with day to day life.  It is so important to take the time to recharge our batteries and take care of ourselves.

We can give so much more to others if we are healthy and energized physically, spiritually and emotionally.

So take the time to pamper yourself – eat your favourite treat, have a leisurely bath, read a good book - devote time to just you.  You will be happier, more relaxed and more rejuvenated to get on with life.

From all of us at the Cove to all of you, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

All love. ✨💙🌊
